12. Any hit pursuant to paragraph 6 shall be manually verified by the competent visa or immigration authority of the Member State processing the application for a long-stay visa or residence permit. For the purposes of manual verification under the first subparagraph of this paragraph, the competent authority shall have access to the application file and any linked application files, as well as to the hits triggered during the automated processing pursuant to paragraph 6.
