THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Having regard to Regulation (EC) No 551/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 10 March 2004 on the organisation and use of airspace in the single European sky (the Airspace Regulation), and in particular Article 6(4) thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Regulation (EU) No 677/2011 and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/123 provide that the Network Manager appointed in accordance with those Regulations is required to establish and keep up-to-date the Network Strategy Plan.

(2) Regulation (EU) No 677/2011 and Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/123 require that the Network Strategy Plan is to be adopted by the Commission after endorsement by the Network Management Board.

(3) On 27 June 2019, the Network Management Board endorsed the Network Strategy Plan for the period from 2020 to 2029. That period is aligned with the relevant reference periods and covers the period of appointment of the Network Manager.

(4) The Network Strategy Plan should be approved.

(5) This decision should enter into force as a matter of urgency before the beginning of the period covered by the Network Strategy Plan.

(6) The measures provided for in this Decision are in accordance with the opinion of the Single Sky Committee established by Article 5 of Regulation (EC) No 549/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The Network Strategy Plan 2020-2029 as endorsed by the Network Management Board at its 25th meeting on 27 June 2019 is approved.

Article 2

This Decision shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
