THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on European Union and in particular Article 42(4) and Article 43(2) thereof,

Having regard to the proposal from the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy,

Whereas:

(1) On 9 December 2019, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2019/2110, which established the European Union CSDP Advisory Mission in the Central African Republic (EUAM RCA) with an initial mandate until 8 August 2022, 2 years after the launch of EUAM RCA.

(2) On 28 July 2022, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2022/1333, which extended the mandate of EUAM RCA until 9 August 2024.

(3) It is necessary to extend the mandate of EUAM RCA until 31 October 2024 to allow for the completion of the strategic assessment of the EU Military Training Mission in the Central African Republic (EUTM RCA) and of EUAM RCA.

(4) Decision (CFSP) 2019/2110 should be amended accordingly.

(5) EUAM RCA will be conducted in the context of a situation which may deteriorate and could impede the achievement of the objectives of the Union’s external action as set out in Article 21 of the Treaty on European Union,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Decision (CFSP) 2019/2110 is amended as follows:

(1) in Article 13(1), the second subparagraph is replaced by the following: The financial reference amount intended to cover the expenditure related to EUAM RCA for the period from 9 August 2022 until 31 October 2024 shall be EUR 28400000..

(2) in Article 17, the last sentence is replaced by the following: The mandate of EUAM RCA shall end on 31 October 2024..

Article 2

This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
