On 16 January 2015 the Commission received a request in accordance with Article 35 of Directive 2014/25/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 February 2014 on procurement procedures by entities operating in the water, energy, transport and postal services sectors and repealing Directive 2004/17/EC. The first working day following receipt of the request is 19 January 2015. This request is made by Flughafen Wien and concerns activities relating to the exploitation of a geographical area for the purposes of provision of airports or other terminal facilities to carriers by air on the territory of Austria. The relevant notices were published in the OJ C 93, 20.3.2015, p. 22; OJ C 217, 2.7.2015, p. 23; and OJ C 282, 4.8.2016, p. 18. Pursuant to the fourth subparagraph of paragraph 1 of Annex IV to Directive 2014/25/EU, the deadline may be extended by the Commission with the agreement of those having made the request. Given that the need to obtain and analyse additional information, and with the agreement of the applicant, the period available to the Commission for deciding on this request is hereby extended until 31 January 2017.
